I know most of you are keen to get onto Sarah's weekend at Lucy's and find out her secrets but I had to slip this page in somewhere and this is really the only place to have it as the events of the weekend make for one very long scene indeed. I know it feels like a filler too but it does have some future relevance with regards to Sarah's future at the Cranberry house! lol ;)

Next week: Sarah drops in to the store mid-week to see Lucy and buy a bottle of wine but it turns out to be a lot less straight forward than she expected!

Have a lovely week! :)

Even though I immediately saw where you were going with this in the first panel, I didn't expect the punchline. I love it! It should be noted children seem to have an easier time accepting/understanding this concept than most adults (which would be laughable if it wasn't so sad).

@kidcthulhu: I have been thought of changing the title of this page to 'Sarah tries to explain transgender' as it rather looks as though it's the kids relating the story too Nikki and not Sarah!

@skyangel: On an unrelated (semi-related perhaps?) note, I'm stealing Sarah's top from this page for Olivia's wardrobe. I'm so used to drawing tee shirts all the time, I have a hard time varying the clothing.

@kidcthulhu: Haha Check it for yoghurt stains first! ;)

An alternative title for this story might be, "Sarah discovers the limits of metaphor."

Or maybe the story was just about a hard day at the confectionary factory and the Cranberry kids are just reading way too much into it.

@Fruitbat44:Haha Maybe I should have had Sarah say, What's this got to do with Nikki? I'm talking about chocolate bars!'

Out of the mouths of Babes. Other than that two comments, Sare >>>DO NOT<<< try to explain anything relating to gender to any children that are not:
A. Your own
B. Mature enough to understand without the use of allegories.
C. Never>>>NEVER<<< have this type of discussion with children where it may well relate to the roof over your head.

Further thought, this incident may force Sare to make a housing decision that will NOT be in her best interest, mentally, or socially.

As always, Ever the eternal optimist.
TTFN!

@Dragonrider: It occurred to me ages ago that young children might ask sensitive questions at times and I liked the idea of Sarah making a pigs ear of it and further annoying Mr's Cranberry too. :)

@skyangel: I thought it was make a silk purse out of a pigs ear.

Great! Now I want a Yorkie bar! It's not for girls.
